Terms and Conditions of Sale

These terms and conditions of sale have been drawn up to ensure the welfare of animals bred by Myrtillus Reptiles, smooth transactions, and clear rules for both the breeder and the buyer. By paying a reservation fee or purchasing an animal, you agree to these terms.

1. Animal Health and Before Going to New Home

• Transfer criteria:  An absolute requirement for transfer is that the hatchling has eaten independently at least 10 meals and has successfully shed its skin.

• Health: At the time of sale, the animal is, to the best of the seller's knowledge and observations, healthy and behaving normally. The buyer is required to inspect the animal at the time of transfer. Sex has been determined to the best of our ability, but cannot be guaranteed with complete certainty.

• Liability after transfer: The breeder is not liable for any illness, injury, health issue, or death occurring after transfer, as the animal's wellbeing is strictly dependent on the husbandry, diet, and care provided by the buyer. Unforeseen or latent conditions developing after transfer do not constitute a breach of contract or liability for the breeder.

• Documents: Each hatchling comes with a certificate of origin, which includes the animal's basic information, genetics (morph/possible het genes), date of birth, and sex.

2. Reservation and Reservation Fee

• Reservation: A reservation can be made for an animal. The reservation becomes binding only when the reservation fee has been paid.

• Reservation fee amount: The reservation fee is 50 €, or 20% of the total price for animals priced over 500 €. The reservation fee is deducted from the final purchase price of the animal.

• Reservation fee refund: The reservation fee is non-refundable. If the buyer cancels the purchase, the reservation fee will not be returned, as it covers the costs of keeping the animal and remarketing it. If the sale is cancelled due to a reason attributable to the breeder (e.g. the animal falling ill before transfer), the reservation fee will be refunded to the buyer in full.

• Reservation validity: The reservation is valid for 60 days from the date the reservation fee is paid. If the animal has not been collected and paid for in full within this period, the breeder reserves the right to cancel the reservation. In this case, the reservation fee will not be refunded.

3. Buyer Responsibilities and Age Limits

• Age limit: Animals are sold only to adults (aged 18 and over). An animal may only be transferred to a minor with the consent of a guardian and with the guardian present at the time of purchase.

• Duty to familiarise: The buyer must personally research and study the species-specific care instructions for ball pythons thoroughly before acquiring an animal. The buyer must understand the living conditions required by the species, its long lifespan, and the commitment involved in caring for the animal. The breeder has the right to refuse a sale if there are doubts about the future keeping conditions of the animal.

4. Transfer Methods and Transport

• Pick-up: The primary method of transfer is pick-up directly from the breeder in Raisio / Turku region, where the buyer can also check the condition of the animal.

• Transport to reptile expos: Transport of the animal to major domestic reptile expos can be arranged separately, provided the breeder is attending the expo in question.

• Animal transport: Animals are never shipped via postal services or standard courier services. If the buyer arranges transport of the animal through a third party (e.g. shared transport), full responsibility for the safe transport of the animal transfers to the buyer as soon as the animal has been handed over to the transporter.

• Payment of the balance: The remaining balance must be paid at the latest at the time of pick-up, in a manner agreed in advance with the breeder. The animal will not be handed over until the full purchase price has been paid.
